There is no evidence to suggest Elon Musk banned global pop star Taylor Swift’s X account and that she lost over 1 million followers on the social media app in September 2024.
The claim comes after Musk, who publicly backed Donald Trump in July , responded to Swift’s Sept. 10 endorsement of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris on X ahead of November’s U.S. Presidential election.
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life,” he posted, opens new tab on X – which he bought in 2022.

However, there is no evidence Swift’s X account has been suspended, as of the time of this article’s publication.

There are also no credible reports that Swift’s account had been taken down or temporarily went offline at any time in September.
Jason Urgo, the CEO of social media analytics firm Social Blade, said in an email to Reuters that “there is no indication of a net (followers gained minus followers lost) loss of one million followers occurring on Taylor Swift’s Twitter/X account anytime in September 2024.”
Representatives for Swift and X did not immediately reply to Reuters’ request for comment.
