“He said something about how kids need to be disciplined more strictly, and it didn’t sit well with me,” she recalled. “It wasn’t a big deal, but as a mother, I felt the need to speak up and protect my daughter’s individuality.”
For Lopez, who is known for being a devoted and protective mother, the comment hit a nerve. “I’m raising Emme to be strong, confident, and free to express herself,” she said. “And I believe in letting her be who she is, without too many restrictions.”
Though the disagreement was brief, Lopez admitted that it was a moment of learning for both her and her father. “It was the first and only time I ever scolded him. But afterward, we talked it out, and he understood where I was coming from.”
